Intense, earthy and unique, with notes of buttered popcorn and milk chocolate on the nose. Kind of a rustic baby, with fair to full tannins, licorice, and a distinct smoked bacon/hung meat note to the finish. Sort of big, but also lacks precision.

The Il Cielo offers a complex nose of marzipan, licorice and dark fruit. On the palate, the fruit shows more of a plumminess and the licorice and marzipan notes are less pronounced. A solid medium finish. Overall, this is a well made, balanced pleasant wine with plenty of character.

Very nice nose of cherry and chocolate, with a touch of leather. Appealing and round black-cherry and chocolate flavors with spice accents. Closes on a medium-long, lightly tannic finish with juicy fruit and an interesting mineral note. Best Buy.
