Le Strette’s Barolo from the Bergera-Pezzole vineyards is characterized by loads of fragrant exotic spice, scented church candle and bee’s wax. The wine is tight and hard in the mouth with firm tannins and a sharp, determined finish. Give it at least five more years of cellar aging.

Barolo Le Strette (with fruit sourced from the Novello and Barolo areas of Piedmont) opens with dark, inky concentration and sweet aromas of cinnamon, clove and mature berry fruit. The wine comes on with strength and personality, but in an immediate, one-dimensional manner.

This has a dark, inky appearance and bright aromas of red fruit, black cherry, wild mushroom and licorice. It tastes succulent and slightly sweet with a rich, chewy quality of tannin.

Bold and chewy, this has slightly overdone notes of ripe berry, spice and moist pipe tobacco. There’s a tiny touch of jammy strawberry or raspberry as well.
