A rich and beautiful wine with a lush, full weight and velvety texture. Typical black fruit abounds with accents of milk chocolate, thyme and eucalyptus. A hint of grapefruit oil adds vibrancy to the nose, transcending a more traditional Corbières offering. The finish is long and lingering but a bit tight with strong tannic presence; drink 2010 on. Although only 55% Syrah, it really shows in this top bottling. Hickory smoke and game notes give a wild, untamed character to the cassis and blueberry fruit, which finishes surprisingly fresh. Drink now-2012.

All the honey and perfumes of Muscat are in this bottle, which has a ripeness balanced by a freshness which make it irresistible. The texture is properly oily, silky perhaps, with just the right touch of acidity.

With 250 cases imported, this Reserve is easier to acquire, half the price and almost as satisfying as the brand’s Limited Release offering. Big ripe modern fresh berry fruits give this wine an immediate appeal. But there's more to it. With layers of wood, soft tannins and flavors of herbs and acidity, this wine has complexity as well. Drink now, but age for five years.

Although slightly unctuous, this decadent selection is hard to turn down thanks to its enticing aromas and flavors of honeyed apricot, preserved peach and quince paste. A soft accent of crushed rose petal adds depth to the nose, while a lingering gingery spice flavor freshens up the finish.

This has been a steady source over the years for reasonably rich, satisfying wines from the Languedoc. The 2004 Réserve has a velvety feel to its tannins, giving it a touch more polish than usual, plus dark flavors of leather, cola and earth--even a hint of bacon on the finish. Drink it over the next few years.

Lush, ripe and a touch heady, this is a rich selection that’s brimming with notes of white peach, quince, melon and red apple. Thankfully, hints of ginger, nectarine pit and citrus rind add lift to the palate and remain through the medium-length finish.
