A little soft and herbal, in the way of certain Sonoma Cabernets, but incredibly rich, offering a heady array of flavors. Blackberries, blueberries, chocolate, sweet red licorice, pepper and toasty oak all mingle and make the wine rewardingly delicious. Seems best now and for the next few years.
This is a good price for a Cab so rich and supple. It’s very deep in flavor, with flavors of blackberry pie filling, milk chocolate, anise and sweet oak, yet it’s softly balanced and dry. Just delicious for drinking now.
Peppery, with a sleek nose that offers a hint of bell pepper and alcohol. Fairly light in color and body, but with good fruity strength. A little hot and seemingly made in an old-fashioned, old-country way without a lot of manipulation. Not tannic; straightforward and confident. Good wine for the price.
Beautifully drinkable in the prime of its youth, with subtle blackberry, cherry, herb and violet flavors folded into soft, dusty tannins. Perfect now with a well-marbled steak, but should age short-term.
An enormously rich Chard brimming with Mandarin orange, tangerine, pineapple, butterscotch and toasty oak flavors. Cool-climate acidity provides a brisk sense of balance to this charming, affordable wine.
An easy, gentle wine, soft and velvety in texture, offering jammy flavors of blackberries, cherries, raspberries and oak. Earns extra points for dryness and a richly tannic structure.
A nice, fairly complex Pinot Noir that shows plenty of upscale character for under twenty bucks. Dry and crisp, it has rich flavors of cherries, red currants, anise and mocha, with hints of pepper and smoke. Drink now.
