Slightly more concentrated than other Marlborough Pinots in this price range, the 2008 Mana displays modest cherry fruit and an array of savory elements, including game, brine and peppery spice. It’s a bit rough around the edges, yet in a charming sort of way. Drink now–2012.
A considerable step up from the mediocre 2004, this vintage of Mana Pinot Noir features a pleasant mix of savory and fruity flavors that includes hints of strawberries, cola, cinnamon and toast. It’s fairly full in the mouth, but soft, with a hint of raisiny overripeness on the finish.
This lightweight Pinot Noir features high-toned red-fruit aromas and flavors. Strawberry and red cherry notes dominate, but there are hints of coffee and nail polish as well. Drink now.
