Given a year’s aging, this Chenin Blanc has lost its initial fruitiness while gaining a more nutty, complex series of flavors. It is rich, full and packed with both acidity and baked-apple fruit flavors. The wine has potential for aging over 2–3 years.

Classic by name and classic by nature, this is a honeyed wine rich with almond notes. It’s ripe with kiwi and pineapple flavors and finishes with a delicious orange-zest minerality. A wine for immediate drinking.

Just off-dry, this wine has the bright acidity to balance the sugars and let the green apple and herb flavors shine through. It's a nice sipper, not very chewy or complex, but ideal for a summer evening.

The Vouvray-based négociant, Marc Brédif, has made a ripe, soft Chinon, reveling in the sweet fruit of 2005. It has some good, smoked-meat flavors to go with the black fruits. Drink now.

Simple and thin, and very tannic, an extremely dry wine that offers little relief beyond acids and alcohol. In fact, itÕs downright disagreebable in the mouth. ItÕs like water with a drop or two of wine flavor.
