Aggressive smelling early on but then it settles on classy raspberry, cassis and herbs. The palate is very healthy, juicy, rich and big, but the flavors of dark berry fruit are subtle and smooth. For a tough, cool vintage, this wine displays lush qualities and depth, bordering on jamminess. Flavors of baked plums and cassis rest on a plump, soft palate with little tannic bite.
