Meeker 2005 Four Kings Red (Alexander Valley)

  1. $60
Meeker has tinkered with Bordeaux blends for years, and this is their best so far. Based on Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s rich and soft, with blackberry, currant and chocolate flavors and interesting notes of sage and sweet dill. Now through 2011.  — S.H.  (4/1/2009)

Meeker 1997 Eighth Rack Zinfandel (Sonoma County)

  1. $14
Forward, fruity and clean, with a jokey label showing a moose, an elk and a sheep playing pool. This wine would make a great house Zin if the price were just a tad lower.  — P.G.  (3/1/2001)

Meeker 2004 Kiss Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Diamond Mountain)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $85
Shows rich, firm mountain tannins and well-ripened, concentrated flavors of blackberries, cherries, currants and cocoa, and is thoroughly dry. But the wine loses a few points for hot caramelization, which may be partly over-charred oak and partly shriveled, overripe berries, if not both.  — S.H.  (2/1/2009)

Meeker 1997 Gold Leaf Cuvee Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley)

  1. $18
Plummy, ripe, beginning to oxidize. Ready to drink right now, it’s got a leafy, tomato flavor to it. Unusual.  — P.G.  (3/1/2001)
