Moshin 2005 Lot 4 Selection Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)

  1. $38
Really young now, this vineyard block bottling needs a little time to come into its own. Tasted in February, a combination of acidity and bottle shock has made it brittle. But it’s a very good wine, deliciously flavored, with a medium-bodied silkiness and Pinot’s exotic sensuality.  — S.H.  (8/1/2007)

Moshin 2004 Clone 115 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)

  1. $45
Dry, earthy and not showing a lot now, this closed wine needs decanting or a bit of bottle age to open up. Presently. a cloud of tannins is hiding ripe cherry, cola and tobacco flavors. Hard to predict where it will end up, but the structure suggests a year or two in the cellar.  — S.H.  (12/1/2006)

Moshin 2005 Estate Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)

  1. $30
Kind of harsh, with green, searing acidity. The wine is fully dry and silky, with decent cherry and spice flavors, but it has that cutting quality.  — S.H.  (8/1/2007)
