This is the winery’s reserve cuvée, first produced in 1995 and released for the Millennium. It’s half pinot and half chardonnay, made from the best of the best grapes and vintages. The vintage brut is the same blend and receives the same treatment as the NV, but the best barrels are chosen and it gets an extra three years en tirage. Just 300 cases were made of the ’98. It is showing mature flavors of toast and buttered pears. Round and creamy, it’s got a bold toastiness but retains enough fruit to remain fresh.

The rosé is especially nice; with a pretty cherry core of sweet fruit. Basically it is free run (saignée) juice with a smidgen (two percent of still wine added to brighten the color. Barrel aged and fermented; 300 cases produced.

This lush, fruity blend is two thirds pinot noir, one third chardonnay, and mostly from the 2001 vintage. It is a delicious, every day, méthode champenoise sparkling wine with crisp, fleshy, green apple flavors. Fruit-driven, it’s got good punch and persistence, and a clean and refreshing finish.

The cuvée is 85% Pinot, 15% Chardonnay. A pretty, salmon-colored blend made with grapes harvested in ’94 and ’92. As you might expect there is some nice richness to it, showing aged, caramel, roasted flavors.

Mountain Dome has won a faithful following in the Northwest by making accessible, broadly flavorful bubbly that comes as close to a fruit bomb as fizz ever does. This is a clean, fresh and quite tasty effort, two thirds pinot noir and one third chardonnay.

This is about two-thirds Pinot and one-third Chardonnay. Very tart and beery, it’s a big, simple, fruity style with outsized bubbles.
