This kosher performer begins with a strong whiff of smoked meats and some unbridled grapey aromas. The palate is fairly complex, with plum, licorice, coffee and mineral notes. The finish is rather spicy, bordering on hot. Despite a touch of bitterness on the back end, it’s got a lot going for it.

This Chard is somewhat viscous on the palate, though its fruit takes a backseat to mallowy, carmelly flavors that calm down with some aeration. Nose offers butterscotchy, carmel-coated tropical fruit aromas. - D.M.

Fairly hollow, with lots of wood, woodsy tannins, and not too much in the way of fruit. The nose, with sweet, juicy red fruit, was a bit more promising than what the palate delivers. - D.M.
