Rich and a little baked, with mildly raisiny aromas that turn granular and sweet with air. The palate is layered and shows good structure, while the flavors of dark fruit are muted but nice. Toast, licorice and bacon flavors carry the finish to a roasty conclusion. Best to drink over the next year or so.

Composed and broad, with smoked meat and wild berry aromas. The plum and raspberry palate is snappy but not out of balance, and while the finish is a bit starching, it should go very well with hearty foods like steaks and roasts.

Rubbery and extremely leathery and rustic, with a strong, stretched nose that isn’t very inviting. The palate is weighty and sticky, with sweet, clumsy, sauvage flavors followed by a roasted, herbal finish.
