Tastes like Zin, but the back label says it’s Syrah. We’ll believe the front label for this pleasant, moderate-bodied wine that sports ripe raspberry, spice, plum, licorice, toast and vanilla flavors. Soft tannins keep the finish smooth.

Dusty and earthy, with aromas of slightly raisined fruit, chocolate and a hint of fresh herbs. The modest dark berry fruit is overwhelmed on the palate by strong earth flavors, but the mouthfeel is generous and smooth. Best Buy.

Odd, disturbing aromas of sweet rhubarb pie start things off; then it turns medicinal and sweet in the mouth. Clean, with good acids, but seems a combination of overripe grapes and suspect winemaking. Barely drinkable.
