It’s all about fruit, and the depth of fruit sings in this Monastrell (a. k. a. Mourvèdre, Mataro) that’s made from 50-year-old vines in the Bullas DO in Spain’s southeast. Ripe and smooth, it has a rich berry and vanilla nose, and an even, spice-accented palate. Finishes dry, with cocoa and mild sweet- spice notes. —M.M.
