A good Syrah at a good price. It’s fully dry and quite balanced, with a nice tension between the dusty tannins, acids, oak and the earthy, blackberry fruit. That feeling of elegant complexity lasts through the finish. Nice job.

You can thank the grape surplus for this value wine, which has many of the attributes of an expensive Cab. Cassis and black currant flavors are framed in smoky oak, with smooth tannins and good acidity.

There’s lots of richness in this dry Chardonnay. From the peaches and cream, pineapple tart and smoky oak and vanilla flavors, to the smooth, creamy texture and the long, cinnamon spice finish, it satisfies. And look at that price.

This is an awfully good price for such a nice Cabernet. It’s well-structured and ripe, with a good acid-tannin balance and forward blackberry and cherry flavors. You’ll be surprised at how much elegance there is.

Pavilion has a perfect record with Chardonnay, four vintages in a row with a consistent score. The ‘06 like its predecessors is ripe and satisfying, with good varietal character. The peach and pineapple flavors have creamy, smoky nuances.
