Even at 10 years, this is still just setting out. While it doesn’t have the immensity of the 1996, it has a great intense grapefruit, pear and fresh apricot series of flavors that come through with toast, ripeness and a suggestion of almonds. 7–8 years aging.

With its richness and great density of flavor, this is always a great Champagne. This 1999 is rounder than some vintages, less mineral, while still retaining the balance between white fruit and toast. It is still young, still tightly textured and ageworthy over several years.

The most recent vintage release from Pol Roger is this superb 2002. Notes of apple, almond, citrus and a hint of toast mingle together effortlessly. It can be consumed now, especially with food, but its mixture of maturity and freshness promise to age beautifully for many years to come.

This is a thouroughbred, elegant sparkler. With its delicate acidity, apple and grapefruit flavors, and tense, steely texture, it is an extremely well-blanced wine. Although it is ready to drink now, it could certainly age in bottle for many years.

A wonderfully balanced wine, with elegance and style from its pure red fruits, and acidity. Pol Roger makes some of the most stylish Champagnes around, and this wine, with a color that bubbles from pale orange to beautiful onion-skin pink, is no exception. It goes well with food, even red meat.

One of the great nonvintage Champagnes, this is a wine with considerable bottle age, full of toasty flavors. With its gooseberry and apple fruit flavors, it is still fresh, but its great character comes from its supreme elegance. Imported by Frederick Wildman & Sons, Ltd.

Gorgeous, delicious fruit, with flavors of crisp apples and lemon zest underlined by an intensity of structure and flavor. There is just great depth to this impressive wine. The only flaw is that it is too young—wait another five years.

A serious, considered wine with its full, ripe and soft flavors tempered with a complex structure. It will not age as impressively as other Pol Roger vintages, and already the yeast and toast element is creeping in. But the weight of Pinot Noir is there, leaving a powerful, creamy mousse finish.
