Trinity county is just north of Mendocino, with a hot, inland climate. This wine advances the fine wine cause up there. It’s a little soft, but juicy and dry, with ripe cherry, blackberry and cocoa flavors, and a complex note of sweet kid leather.

Coming from the South Fork of the Trinity River, in the Sierra Foothills, this wine seems to reflect its rugged origins. It has a lusty appeal, with rich, thick tannins and bigtime cherry and pomegranate fruit, finished with chocolate, that leads to a dry, fruity finish.

Made from mountain vineyards in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, this is a tough, chewy Cabernet. It’s very dry, and robust tannins surround ripe blackberry fruit flavors. Good now, and should develop for a few years.

Ripe and fruity, bursting with blackberry and cherry jam flavors balanced with crisp acids and firm tannins, this is a nice, easy wine to enjoy with steaks and chops.

Ripe and oaky, this strongly flavored wine tastes of caramelized baked apples and grilled pineapples, set off with fine acidity. The oak is too much on the toothpicky side, though.

Soft and candied, this gentle wine shows cherry, currant, smoky oak and peppery spice flavors, with some baked fruit notes. Drink now.

Nice flavors of baked red cherries, cola, bacon and spice, and the finish is dry and clean. Lacks the acidity to make all this vibrant, though.
