Rejadorada 2003 Tinto Roble Tinta de Toro (Toro)

  1. $20
Starts with roasted, leathery aromas that feature hints of burnt beef and berry compote. The palate is layered and nicely balanced, with berry flavors hitting first and chocolate coming next. Espresso is the final act, as it ties the mouth to the finish in impressive fashion. A big load but one that’s still manageable.  — M.S.  (12/15/2006)

  1. $18
Chunky and chocolaty on the nose, with aromas of raisins, blackberries and other black fruits. It feels easy and round, with balance and toasty flavors of blackberries and dark cherries. This finishes with a blend of coffee, rubber, mocha and vanilla flavors. An excellent wine; drink now through 2014.  — M.S.  (7/1/2012)

Rejadorada 2001 Crianza Tinta de Toro (Toro)

  1. $27
Spicy and exotic, with tight fruit and plenty of tannin in the mouth. There’s a lot of juicy blackberry flavors along with full-force acids and verve. Tight as a drum, with some rough edges that should mellow over the next year or so. A wine to watch from a region that’s showing its stuff. Imported by Bon Vivant Imports.  — M.S.  (4/1/2006)

Rejadorada 2001 Sango Tinta de Toro (Toro)

  1. $55
Raisin and liqueur carry the oaked nose, yet the palate is quite hard and tannic. Reduced a bit across the tongue, with prune, milk chocolate and beet nots. Has power and a high price tag, but it fails to stir the beast.  — M.S.  (9/1/2006)
