Superb fruit highlights this tight, sculpted Syrah. It’s extremely dense, with deep and intense raspberry and cassis fruit flavor, augmented with coffee grounds, smoke and iron filings. Complex, detailed, balanced and deep—what more can a wine give you? This is drinking very young and surely needs to be decanted. But already displaying amazing power.

The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon was the only other stand-alone Cab made from Rulo. This is 100% Cabernet, and a pure expression of Red Mountain. That purity is a hallmark of Rulo; clean and expressive, with a tight focus. Dense, ripe, black fruits, black olive, earth and rock, with a kiss of spice. It’s a singularity expressed beautifully, dense and smoky and earthy…

Young, peppery, tight, supple and extremely concentrated, this 100% Syrah has all the varietal character you want; with tightly wound raspberry and currant-based red fruit flavors. In the mouth it extends into stone, more mixed fruits, butterscotch and a tight, earthy, bone- dry tannic finish. It’s a riot of subtle flavors.

An extraordinarily intense style of Viognier, whose flavors cut deep. The sharp, edgy, focused core of lime and citrus fruits seem to last forever, supported by laser-like acids and a tongue-cleaning minerality. There is nothing bitter or hot in the finish; it’s just a super-dense and beautifully varietal Viognier from one of Washington’s best white wine producers.

This is all Clifton vineyard fruit and 100% varietal. It is superb; dense, laced with smoke, lightly peppery, tight, supple and extremely concentrated. The wine has all the varietal character you want; with tight raspberry and currant red fruits. Great acid supports more subtle flavors of stone, spice and toasty earth. Great middle, good length.
