Viña San Pedro’s origins date back to 1865 when brothers Bonifacio and José Gregorio Correa Albano acquired pieces of land formerly owned by their ancestors. These two 5th generation family members began to produce their first San Pedro wines with local grape varieties which were later replaced by more internationally recognized varieties from Southern France and Germany throughout the Curico Valley. San Pedro Vineyards cover over 3,700 acres in the Central Valley as well as Elqui, Casablanca, San Antonio-Leyda, Maipo, Cachapoal, Maule and Bío-Bío. The San Pedro portfolio includes the several brands including Castillo de Molina and GatoNegro. GatoNegro was born in 1960 and Castillo de Molina was launched around 1980 both of which have experienced success in the international market recognized as quality value brands according to our San Pedro reviews. In 2011 Vina San Pedro was awarded New World Winery of the Year at the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards. For more information on these wines be sure to check out our San Pedro wine ratings below.
