Santa Florentina 2009 Malbec (Famatina Valley)

Aromas of sweet fruit and chocolate-mint are nice, while the palate is creamy and fluffy, with candied, vanilla-infused flavors and soft, pillowy tannins. Berry jam in a glass, with plenty of cream and mocha to make it soft and candied.  — M.S.  (11/1/2010)

A little out there on a limb, with ultra-tropical aromas and limited flavors. It starts out fine in the mouth, and then come basic citrus, sweet pineapple and melon flavors. Tastes a lot like powdered sugar on the finish, but lasting acidity manages to cut through the candied sweetness.  — M.S.  (8/1/2010)

Santa Florentina 2009 Merlot (Famatina Valley)

Aromas of milk chocolate, candy, field greens and dusty red fruit are less than convincing. The palate has high acidity and a lean body, with flavors of carob, pepper, spice and basic raspberry. Sweet and light on the finish.  — M.S.  (12/31/2010)

Santa Florentina 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (Famatina Valley)

Incredibly candied and sweet smelling, much like cotton candy or pink marshmallows. The palate has a cloying, sticky mouthfeel and flavors of raisin, milk chocolate and herbal, tart berry fruits. Creamy and carob-like on the finish. Tastes and smells affected.  — M.S.  (8/1/2010)
