Tannic and dry, with earth, tobacco, blackberry, violet and cedar flavors. Could be a bit more generous, but elegantly structured. Now–2011.

Lots of rich, forward flavor in this wine. It floods the palate with blackberries, black currants, blueberries, dark chocolate and sweetly smoked cedar wood, and is properly dry. There’s some sharpness that interferes with a smooth palate ride, but it’s a pretty nice wine.

A nice, medium-bodied red wine to drink with spicy, rich fare, like ham and sausage dishes. It’s very dry and brisk in dusty tannins, with flavors of black cherries, Dr. Pepper, herbs, Asian spices and sweet sandalwood. Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Soft and ultra-fruity, with jam and caramelized oak flavors. It’s dry but hot, with 15.7% alcohol. Pretty good with a bacon cheeseburger.

Shows the classic faults with hot country Petite Sirah, namely, heat and excessive sweetness. The alcohol is 16.5%. But it’s drinkable.
