Tenuta di Lilliano 2005 Riserva Sangiovese (Chianti Classico)

There’s a subtle candy-like element to this wine’s pretty nose that recalls vanilla and cherries sprinkled with dried flowers and green herbs. The wine has a lean, compact feel in the mouth and refreshes the palate thanks to its blueberry flavors and crisp close.  — M.L.  (9/1/2008)

Tenuta di Lilliano 2006 Sangiovese (Chianti Classico)

This wine (with the maximum percentage of foreign grapes added to the blend) has a broad, meaty mouthfeel with loads of spice and background notes that recall smoked bacon and ripe black cherry. It offers a bit of sweetness and loads of chewy, flavor-rich succulence.  — M.L.  (9/1/2008)
