TerraNoble 2009 CA1 Andes Carmenère (Colchagua Valley)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $23
Sweet, smooth and inviting aromas of blackberry, marzipan, vanilla and toasty oak lead to a dense, layered palate with a silky feel and elevated flavors of blackberry, baked plum and coffee. There’s enough acid for it all to ride on, but the focus is on dense flavors, richness and texture.  — M.S.  (12/31/2011)

TerraNoble 2003 Gran Reserva Carmenère (Maule Valley)

Loaded with ripe aromas of cola, dark fruit and earth, and that’s followed up by the full allotment of blackberry and black cherry flavors. Chocolaty and full on the palate and finish, with supreme juiciness and laudable balance. Makes the grade and then some. Imported by Winebow.  — M.S.  (12/15/2005)

TerraNoble 2004 Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon (Colchagua Valley)

  • Best Buy
  1. $14
This wine is the perfect model for midlevel Chilean Cabernet. It costs under $15 yet it overdelivers. The nose is firm and toasty, with serious berry and cassis aromas. In the mouth, it sings its way through wavy raspberry and vanilla flavors. Balanced and rich, with some creaminess and depth.  — M.S.  (11/15/2006)

TerraNoble 2001 Reserva Carmenère

  • Best Buy
  1. $12
Nice, fresh and on the money. This is Carmenère in its ripest, most balanced state, and it is a fine red wine with a lot of spunk and natural flavor. The bouquet is perfumed and meaty, while the palate deals bacon, cassis and black cherry. A smoky, mildly charred finish really helps it along.  — M.S.  (3/1/2004)

TerraNoble 2003 Reserva Carmenère (Maule Valley)

  1. $12
Fat and attractive, with ripe fruit that can best be described as bruising. Black plum, ink and delicate herbs make for a lovely nose that leads to a lush palate of black cherry, plum and cassis. Smooth and full-bodied; a pleasant, legitimate surprise.  — M.S.  (2/1/2005)

TerraNoble 2004 Gran Reserva Merlot (Maule Valley)

  1. $16
Chilean Merlot in fine form. The nose is subtle and lightly spiced, with ample dark fruit aromas. The palate bursts with tight, snappy cherry and raspberry flavors, while the back end is smoky and drying, with perfect tannins. Golfers would liken this to a drive right down the middle.  — M.S.  (10/1/2006)

TerraNoble 2009 Gran Reserva Carmenère (Maule Valley)

  1. $18
Dark, smoky, chocolaty and welcoming up front, then firm and juicy in the mouth, with berry flavors, chocolate, herbal notes and earth. Not overly dense or heavy, with a racy character and proper acidity on the finish. Bright and flavorful.  — M.S.  (12/31/2011)

TerraNoble 2007 Reserva Syrah (Colchagua Valley)

  • Best Buy
  1. $12
Now that TerraNoble is getting its Syrah from warm Colchagua, the end product is dark, roasted and statuesque. There’s a lot of beef and structure to this affordable Syrah, and the flavors of plum, blackened toast and tea are manly to say the least. Finishes with a lot of roasted oomph, including spice, espresso and mint chip flavors.  — M.S.  (7/1/2009)
