Tuatara 2002 Sauvignon Blanc (Nelson)

  1. $12
Named after a nearly extinct species of lizard said to be dinosaur-like, this is more of what we’ve come to expect from New Zealand: another well-made Sauvignon Blanc with grassy, herbal aromatics and lime and grapefruit flavors.  — J.C.  (9/1/2003)

Tuatara 2001 Chardonnay (Nelson)

  1. $16
Very fresh and appealing in its lean, citrusy flavors of orange and lime. This Chard finishes hard and tart enough to cut through fatty foods or act as a mouthwatering apéritif.  — J.C.  (9/1/2003)

Tuatara 2001 Pinot Noir (Nelson)

Pretty sulfury on the nose, but it begins to blow off after an hour in the glass. Underneath, the wine is big-boned but slightly hollow, with herbal accents to the cherry fruit.  — J.C.  (4/1/2004)
