Vezzani 2002 Sangiovese (Rubicone)

  1. $7
This simple red comes from the hills near Bologna, not exactly prime Italian wine country. It’s lean, with a hint of spice and chocolate. It’s also tart and tight on the palate. Starts better than it finishes.  — M.S.  (10/1/2004)

Vezzani 2000 Rosso Red (Salice Salentino)

  1. $6
The star-bright ruby color will entice you, but there the excitement ends. Overall, it’s thin and disappointing, and the finish is short.  — C.S.  (5/1/2002)

Vezzani 2002 Bianco White (Sicilia)

  1. $7
Mostly burnt aromas carry the nose. Lemon-lime and apple control the palate, with more of the same on the finish. Bland but basic in the mouth.  — M.S.  (10/1/2004)
