Vieux Château Certan 2010 Red (Saint-Émilion)

  • Cellar Selection
A beautiful, velvety smooth wine, unusually for Vieux Château Certan dominated by Merlot. It has tannin, to be sure, but these are conveyed through the ripe fruit and the sweetness of the blackberry flavors. It is opulent, although never too much, retaining its elegance. Age for many years.  — R.V.  (5/1/2013)

Vieux Château Certan 2006 Barrel Sample Red (Pomerol)

95-97 Barrel Sample A ripe, perfumed wine with spice and sweet, delicious fruit, sustained by dense, opulent tannins and red fruits. A greater dominance of Merlot in the wine in 2006 has resulted in a richer, fatter wine than usual.  — R.V.  (6/1/2007)
