Big and brawny, with a strutting bouquet the spills earth, leather, coffee and cedar-lined cigar box. The fruit is fine and dandy as well, with black cherry, plum and raspberry dominating. Finishes solid, warm and mildly tannic. Quite tasty and satisfying as a whole.

Lush oak lends coconut and toast notes to the cherry fruit in this international-style wine. Fairly full, it displays a supple texture and offers dark rich flavors on the palate. Closes with espresso notes and even tannins. Has class and flavor, but it’s very much of the new school...not for traditionalists. Drink now through 2006.

Mildly rusty in color, with early dust and leather aromas. It picks up the pace upon airing, showing herb and charcoal scents. In the mouth, there’s snappy pie cherry and red plum, while the finish is clean and substantive. Another wine from Cecchi.

Tight mineral notes shape this wine and created extra dimension over what is a simple, genuine and fruity Chianti Classico. The wine offers chewy cherry, some chocolate notes and spicy acidity on the close.

There’s an aged, slightly rustic quality to the bouquet of this riserva that comes across as Indian spice box, rum cake, old leather and dried berry. The wine offers a textured, gritty sensation in the mouth. Drink now.

The wine opens with a dark, impenetrable color and a thick, somewhat murky appearance. The nose is thick and syrupy with muddled tones of mature fruit and blueberry, while the mouthfeel is chunky and very sticky.
