Viña Valoria 2006 Reserva Red (Rioja)

  1. $35
Smooth and pure up front, this has notes of lemon peel and tobacco on the bouquet. Fresh, complete and racy in feel, it has flavors of tomato, cherry and raspberry, with an overall freshness that can’t be assailed. It finishes mild, with a hint of toffee. Elegant and ready to drink now–2015.  — M.S.  (11/1/2012)

Viña Valoria 2009 Crianza Red (Rioja)

  1. $25
Plum, berry, vanilla and plastic aromas dominate the nose. The mouthfeel features drying tannins that are offset by refreshing acids. The flavors consist of berry, resiny oak and vanilla. It definitely shows its oak on the finish, which is plump in feel and solidly structured.  — M.S.  (12/31/2012)

  1. $45
Sweet and heavily oaked, with candied fruit, loads of vanilla and milk chocolate-covered raisin aromas. Feels choppy on one hand and lactic on the other, with mostly oak-based, sweet flavors of maple, vanilla and mocha. Feels O.K. but creamy on the finish, and it tastes candied and artificial throughout.  — M.S.  (7/1/2012)
