Some leather and horsehide aromas dance with burnt toast and red fruit on the nose. Flavors of vanilla-accented plum are standard, while the finish is a touch hot and spicy. It’s weighty and thick in terms of body, a bit like a heavy blanket on a warm night.

Burnt and smoky on the nose, with a meaty, earthy undercurrent. Flavors of plum and berry are best at first but lose clarity with each passing minute. Fairly plump but unfocused, thus not even the catchy blue burlap bag the bottle comes in is of much help.

Early aromas of sea water, mushroom and rubber integrate into a more pleasant whole. The flavors are sweet and candied, while on the finish a mild vegetal hint comes on. That said, the wine is decent in the mouth, where the texture is pleasant.

Stewy, with a rough nose. Better in the mouth, with raspberry touched up by some spicy pepper. Underdeveloped, with light red fruit and some green character.
