Its smooth, velvety mouthfeel is almost reason enough to buy this wine, but the river of ripe red fruit, nut and cassis flavors on the palate make it a lock. The nose may be right in line with the “big Oz Shiraz” profile (caramel, big black fruit, a little herb and oak), but the eucalyptus and mocha flavors are all its glorious own. 300 cases produced.

The nose is still fairly closed but shows some plum and bacon aromas. The palate is likewise not expressing much flavor, but the wine's formidable size, chewy tannins, and medium-long finish promise good things to come down the road. Drink 2007+.

This full-bodied, creamy-textured Shiraz features savory notes of roasted meat, black olive and coffee layered over a base of dried fruit. It finishes long and amply concentrated, with plenty of spice-driven nuance. Imported by International Vines, Inc.

Surprisingly full bodied and rich for a wine at this price, the 2007 Catapult is at the same time savory in style, with notes of dry cedar, roasted meat, black olive, cracked pepper and fine espresso. Finishes long, with velvety tannins. Best with herbed lamb, simply grilled or roasted. Drink now–2020.

A full-bodied, ripe Cabernet, with plenty of cassis fruit shored up by vanilla and cedar. There’s just enough mint for it to be a pleasant accent rather than an annoying distraction, while the tannins are supple almost to the point of creaminess, making it easy to drink now.

Full bodied, rich and creamy on the palate, this is a lush Shiraz ready for immediate consumption. It delivers intense dark fruit flavors with the merest hint of raisining, ending on a chocolaty note.

Upon opening, this wine is dominated by smoky, charred oak and toasted coconut aromas. But airing provides a glimpse of rich, sweet plums, blackberries, currants, herbs, game and tree bark. Soft tannins and moderate acidity make this approachable now.
