Effusive scents of passion fruit leap from the glass, but the flavors are more subtle, less over the top. Grapefruit notes with herbal shadings are easygoing and should be reasonably versatile at the table. Fresh and lively on the finish, but drink up over the next few months.

This bargain Sauvignon is leafy and intense on the nose, with fig, ripe citrus and herbal overtones on the palate. It’s plump and round, and decently concentrated for the price.

This is a lightweight Pinot Noir with seductive aromas of pie cherries and dusty roses, and a delicate, almost lacy, texture. It’s the kind of pretty, silky Pinot that would be at home with chicken and fish dishes. Drink now.

Nothing against light-bodied Pinot Noir, but the delicacy of this wine verges on dilute. There’s a hint of hickory smoke, some modest cherry fruit and not a lot else.
