Not what you’d expect; this is a 55% Viognier/45% Roussanne blend, robust and balanced. It crisply mixes the honey/floral and citrus/tropical characters of the two grapes, while walking the stylistic tightrope between stainless steel and barrel fermentation.

Homegrown zin is catching on in Washington, and this captures the style nicely. Claret-like, with bright berries and juniper spice highlight a taut, fresh, tangy wine.

The Serience Red is a southern Rhône blend of 42% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre, 7% Cinsault and 5% Counoise. The blend is 60% Viognier and 40% Roussanne; the wine is a rich golden color, with an equally rich and fruity mouthfeel. Flavors include lots of golden apple, hints of peach and light tropical. This is well-balanced, seamless and shows medium concentration.

Unusual mix includes Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise. Forward, ripe aromas of berries, cherries and plums atop layers of tobacco and malted chocolate. Soft and accessible, but somewhat shapeless.

This unusual wine mixes Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Cinsault—not gonna find that in California! It’s got a great spicy edge to it, along with chocolatey tannins and acids that suggest a lick of grapefruit—the Washington Syrah signature. It’s a very appealing red blend, great for tossing into any party mix, unpretentious, rich and flavorful.

The Serience is round and fruity, with sweet strawberry jam flavors front and center. This shows its 14.6% alcohol with a bit of burn in the finish.
