A bit fuller and drier than you might expect from a Mosel Riesling, but there’s no questioning this wine’s excellent balance. Honey and cinnamon notes accent pear and melon fruit, while hints of petrol lurk in the background. It’s almost dry on the long finish.

Despite being essentially an entry-level wine, this is not simple fruity-sweet Riesling. Instead, it offers aromas of slate, citrus and an almost fumé-like smoky character, mostly dry, minerally, stony flavors and a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now–2012.

Distinctively oily and petrol-like in aroma, with hints of peaches and minerals. Even the texture is slightly oily, yet this medium-bodied wine finishes clean and fresh.

As a basic Riesling from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, this carries it off better than some, conveying steely, slatey notes suggestive of its origins alongside apple and lime flavors. Off-dry, balanced by mouthwatering acids. Imported by Cellars International, Inc.
