Château Thivin 2007 Cuvée Zaccharie Gamay (Côte de Brouilly)
-
$20
Perfumed, earthy, spicy, this is a balanced wine that brings its tannins firmly together with black fig, black plum skins and sweet juicy black cherries. The core is dry, but the delicious fruit finally dominates. That said, it is sure to have some good aging.

Paul Beaudet 2009 Domaine de Chardignon Gamay (Côte de Brouilly)
-
$20
Powerfully rich wine, with jammy fruit flavors to go with its strawberry fruits. The wine is driven by its ripe fruit, the acidity coming through the sweetness to finish freshly and with some tannic, ageworthy structure.

Domaine des Terres Dorées 2008 Gamay (Côte de Brouilly)
Jean-Paul Brun uses only natural yeast, giving a wine that is rich in fruit, and that has a delicious light bounce to it. The flavors are of wild strawberries, red cherries and refreshing acidity.

Pierre Ferraud et Fils 2008 Domaine Rolland Gamay (Côte de Brouilly)
With its dense fruits and soft tannins, this is the epitome of sunsoaked, ripe Gamay. The red cherry and berry fruits are ripe, the wine is balanced, it is open, easy. Structure may be missing, but then the fruit is so attractive.

Ferraud et Fils 2010 Domaine Rolland Gamay (Côte de Brouilly)

There are certainly plenty of tannins here, but they are balanced by rich fruit, strawberry juice flavors and freshness. Structured ripeness is the hallmark here.

Domaine Chasselay 2009 Premier Cru l’Héronde Gamay (Côte de Brouilly)

$28
A wine that shows more of the structure of 2009 than the year’s richness. It has tannins, red berry fruit, spice from new wood and layers of acidity. It could age well another six months.
