93-95. Barrel sample. Spice and green apple flavors dominate the palate of this crisp yet creamy wine. It has a fine, dense texture, and the fruit comes through with great intensity. The wood is neatly in support.

Château Margaux 2006 Pavillon Blanc de Château Margaux White (Bordeaux Blanc)
A great Pavillon Blanc, fine, rich and balanced. From its citrus opening to the final burst of crisp, ripe fruit, this shows the great style of white Bordeaux in 2006. Spice, honey, melon and toast all mingle harmoniously.

Château Mont-Pérat 2006 White (Bordeaux Blanc)
Mont-Pérat is on slopes overlooking the Garonne river, offering great exposure. Maybe that’s why this wine is so well balanced, its ripe fruits sliced open with acidity. The texture is smooth, given spice from judicious wood aging. This is a wine to drink this year.

Château Lamothe de Haux 2004 Cuvée Valentine Sauvignon Gris (Bordeaux Blanc)
Editors' Choice
Online Exclusive
This wine is an original. Made from 100% of the rare Sauvignon Gris, its flavors are reminiscent both of the freshly herbaceous character of Sauvignon Blanc, and the spicy character of Pinot Gris. Add in a touch of new wood, and you have a fascinating and complex wine.
