Château Potensac 2003 Red (Médoc)
Cellar Selection
Price
$20
Managed by Jean-Hubert Delon of Léoville Las Cases, this is without equal in the Medoc appellation. It shows breeding, depth of flavor, beautifully crafted tannins and fine, rich fruit without the overripeness so characteristic of 2003. With its structure, acidity and delicious fruit, this will age as well as any wine from a more classy appellation.

Shows smoky new wood and black currant fruit. This is a structured wine, powerful, while preserving just the right balance of acidity. It’s dark and dense in character, yet with great freshness.

Château Potensac 2009 Barrel sample Red (Médoc)

91-93 Barrel sample. Smooth wine, the tannins firmly placed within the ripe fruit. It is not heavy, only lightly extracted, full of the ripest fruit.

Bernard Magrez 2005 Château Tour Blanche Red (Médoc)
Price
$20
A big, solid wine, foursquare and chunky. The fruit directs its plum fruit flavors to richness, some sweetness, with coffee and licorice as added complexity. There is a great tight wood element giving dryness.

Château les Grands Chênes 2004 Red (Médoc)
Price
$30
An enticing, delicious wine, all sweetness and fresh fruit, held carefully in check with its great acidity and lively black currants. There are some attractive summer flower perfumes, floating over the berry fruits and final acid lift.

Château Potensac 2008 Barrel sample Red (Médoc)
Online Exclusive
90-92 Barrel sample. With the team of Léoville Las-Cases in charge, this is always one of the high performing Médoc properties. It is tight, dark, taking a while to open. The blackberry flavors are almost stalky, but they are softened by smoky wood.

Château Potensac 2011 Barrel Sample Red (Médoc)

90-92. Barrel sample. Firm tannins, a wine with a solid structure, the weight packed tightly into its firm structure. Concentrated tannins are very present while still fruity.
