Domaine Dujac 2009 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $344
Firm, but so generous and elegant. There is an ethereal perfumed character, along with mineral and earth notes. The tannins are integrating well in this powerful, impressive, ageworthy wine.  — R.V.  (9/1/2011)

Louis Jadot 2010 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $300
Located in the northern end of Chambolle-Musigny, Bonnes Mares shows much of the same structure as Morey-Saint-Denis. This 2010 has so much weight and concentration, and it bears red fruit flavors and bright acids. It has a tannic side as well, which promises that this wine will age.  — R.V.  (4/1/2013)

Domaine Bruno Clair 2010 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  • Cellar Selection
This is a big, dense wine that has great generosity. It’s ripe, full bodied and opulent now, and it offers concentration and depth of flavor. The fruit used to make this wine was sourced from 60-year-old vines located near Clos de Tart. It has considerable aging potential, so cellar this for 8–10 years.  — R.V.  (4/1/2013)

Louis Jadot 1999 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $109
With the superlative 1999 vintage, Louis Jadot, one of the top Burgundy négociants, has been able to produce a deep, dense purple-colored wine. With firm tannins over huge black chocolate and sweet figs and huge layers of acidity, it has great shape and structure, worthy of the vintage. A big, chunky wine with enormous presence, rounded out by the wood.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)

Bouchard Pere & Fils 2000 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $120
A deliciously concentrated and powerful wine from the domaine of négociant Bouchard Père et Fils. Rich chocolate aromas and intense concentrated black fruits give a strong sense of power and richness. The fruit is rich enough to dominate the tannins. This should age magnificently—10 years at least.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)

Domaine Comte Georges de Voguë 2000 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  1. $260
Enormous fruit dominates this wine. Red fruits of every type, from raspberries to red currants mingle in a dense fruit salad. But underneath this mouthfilling fruit is a big, solid structure that promises great aging ability. Keep this wine for 10 years before opening, perhaps even keeping some more bottles for at least 20.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)

Bouchard Pere & Fils 2006 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  1. $325
A proper Bonnes-Mares, solidly rooted in its great terroir, very ripe but also densely structured. The wine builds up in layers, the flavors of chocolate, licorice and dark plum skins piling on top of each other. The acidity is there, but almost submerged in the richness and the ripe raspberry jam aftertaste.  — R.V.  (12/31/2008)

Domaine Georges Roumier 2000 Pinot Noir (Bonnes-Mares)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $120
From its dense color and its thick aromas of smoked meats and hedgerow fruits to its dense, rich and concentrated fruit, this is a superlative wine. The solid fruit and hugely extracted tannins give it great weight. This could age for at least 20 years, and certainly won’t be ready to drink before 10.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)
