The aromas of lilacs and yeast are nice, but there’s also an oily note there that doesn’t work. The palate has grapefruit, apple and pepper, but there’s also a slight meaty note, too. Get the picture? The wine has both good and bad points, so it isn’t the full package. — M.S. (6/1/2003)
