Joseph Drouhin 2006 Pinot Noir (Griotte-Chambertin)

  1. $270
Initially, this seems soft, big but gentle. Only slowly do the tannins come through, and even then they are only part of the supremely rich wine. It has concentration followed by chunky fruits, finished with almost jammy sweetness. Obviously appealing now, those tannins will see it age well.  — R.V.  (10/1/2009)

Joseph Drouhin 2004 Pinot Noir (Griotte-Chambertin)

  1. $154
Ripe and fresh, this impresses more by the purity of its fruit than by its structure. This suggests that it will age quickly, confiremd by the soft tannins, strawberry fruit flavors and the balancing acidity.  — R.V.  (3/1/2007)
