Albert Bichot 2010 Pinot Noir (Latricières-Chambertin)

A powerful wine that’s made from fruit sourced from the southern neighbor of the great Chambertin grand cru, this is rich, deep and complex. A smoky note is followed by black fruits, dark tannins and a sense of richness and structure. It has great weight, and it will need many years of aging.  — R.V.  (4/1/2013)

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet 2004 Pinot Noir (Latricières-Chambertin)

  1. $98
Initially austere, with dry tannins, this wine then opens up spectacularly. There are aromas of new wood and red fruits; the palate is treated to a rich, rolling velvet texture overlain with berry fruits, sweet acidity and a delicious, open, juicy finish. It will be even better in 5–10 years, but works well now.  — R.V.  (3/1/2007)

Camille Giroud 2008 Latricières Chambertin Pinot Noir (Latricières-Chambertin)

  1. $185
A wine that is very mineral, very structured in its tannins, the black fruits flavors a straight line cut through with acidity.  — R.V.  (9/1/2011)

Camille Giroud 2004 Pinot Noir (Latricières-Chambertin)

  1. $195
Big, bold and fruity, this is a wine with all the generosity and power of Grand Cru Gevrey-Chambertin. It is ripe, with forward fruits and a polished texture but there is still a firm bite of tannin underneath. Drinkable now, but it should age.  — R.V.  (3/1/2007)

Faiveley 2004 Pinot Noir (Latricières-Chambertin)

  1. $100
This wine shows the big, bold side of wines from Gevrey-Chambertin. But the star of the show is the big, bold tannins rather than fruit. It will certainly mature, and will, eventually, be an impressive wine. But those dry tannins will always remain.  — R.V.  (3/1/2007)
