A huge wine, packed with chunky fruit. Flavors of black fruits, and sweet and sour acidity pierce the firm tannins. It is dense, dark, brooding, and has great potential.

An intensely perfumed wine, tight with tannins and red stone fruits. There is some hardness initially, then the wine opens out to give juicy, ripe red plums, dry tannins, spice and sweet acidity. The finish is full and dry. Age for several years.

Very fragrant, yet still showing the chunky, full-flavored profile of the vineyard, this ripe, hot wine has plenty of punch and a delicious, engaging range of fruit, leaf and leather.

This is intensely perfumed, exotic and initially overpowering. But when you taste the fruit, the wine is transformed into a dark, tannic, almost brooding and rich wine, which is still young. Wood shows quite strongly at this stage—but just wait, this will be wonderful in five years.

This premier cru is entirely owned by Domaine Bertagna, making it the flagship of the domaine. This wine shows mineral character as well as finesse. But it is also structured, with dry tannins through the finish. It’s not huge, but it certainly is solid.

Intensely perfumed, this wine shows both strength and great elegance. The raspberry flavors float over a light structure of some dry tannins. The acidity is there, but it is the generosity of the fruit that is most obvious, going right through the wine to the sweet, jammy finish.

A white wine vineyard in the heart of the Pinot Noir kingdom of Vougeot is quite a rarity. Domaine de la Vougeraie owns all of this tiny 5-acre vineyard. The wine has a richness and purity of fruit, with apricot and hints of the tropics over a layer of sweet wood. A smooth, creamy texture adds to the allure of this delicious wine.

This tiny 5.6 acre white vineyard in the heart of the red wine village of Vougeot is owned entirely by the Boisset family's Domaine de la Vougeraie. The wine is deliciously ripe and open, with spice and nutmeg. There is a balancing touch of acidity, and sweet, almost tropical fruit. Smoky, spicy aftertaste.
