Winemaker Elisabetta Geppetti is a beautiful and dynamic woman, with a firm grasp on Sangiovese and Scansano. Her riserva offers ripe fruit, wonderful softness and hints of wild brush and scrub oak in the background.

Incredibly rich and ripe, a total departure from traditional dry Morellino. Cola, chocolate, caramel and blackberry aromas emanate from the bouquet, while the palate is loaded with black fruit and coffee. Finishes sweet, with fudge and mocha notes. A layered, meaty wine.

Compelling, rich and darkly extracted, this would pair with succulent red meat, roasted pork or lamb. The wine shows blackberry, plum and prune, with leather, tobacco and bitter chocolate. The mouthfeel is soft, plush and velvety.

This is a first rate wine with a deep, luminous ruby color and fine aromas of cherry, licorice, granite slate and pencil lead. The 85-15 Sangiovese-Syrah blend exhibits fabulous intensity, good complexity and loads of firm structure and persistent in the mouth: This is as good as Morellino gets.

Fine-tuned aromas of mint, licorice, herbs and berries hit, while oak comes on with airing. Racy and exuberant, with forceful acidity pushing stylish dark fruit and tannin. It’s hardcore Sangiovese, so it needs a couple of years to soften; to drink now consider pulling out the decanter.

Beautiful ruby concentration sets the tone for what proves to be an irresistible Morellino with clear blueberry, sweet spice and cherry cough drop. This comes alive in the mouth thanks to its inherent freshness; would make an easy match to most pasta or meat dishes.

This 100% Sangiovese Morellino delivers great intensity, ripe red fruit, raspberry, licorice and dried herbs. It is a real charmer thanks to vibrant fruity flavors and a solid, firm built. Aged 13 months in barrique, it would pair well with roasted meats or lamb stew.

A lively Morellino Riserva with very ripe cherry fruit, blueberry and delicate nuances of toasted nut, spice, cherry cough drop, mint and asphalt. It’s a wine that grabs your attention and is a bit high strung but ultimately goes down smoothly thanks to 24 months in tonneaux.
