Fragrant notes of cloves, wild herbs, plums and an earthy thread throughout. A full-bodied, rich wine with great extraction of inky blackberries, strong spices, tobacco and supportive oak character. Tasters were pleasantly surprised by this wine due to it’s unusual power.

Very earthy, with notes of cinnamon and cassis. Ripe blackberries, spice and white pepper play out on the palate. Tannins are big and crushing but the fruit holds up in this well-balanced wine.

Exceptional concentration, structure and balance mark this 11-year old blend of Cab, Cinsault and Carignan that’s ripe with cassis and plums and a plume of smoke, earth and barnyard funk. Tannins subdued into a powdery softness, it’s elegantly textured yet full and forward with a rich, layered complexity.

Gorgeous on the nose with a blast of fresh red fruit, violets and smoke, Musar’s Jeune is unabashed in its youth and verve compared to the more austere Gaston Hochar line. The palate boasts the same deeply concentrated fruit, but with a freshness and acidity that lingers to a smoky, leather-accented finish.

Opens with toasted vanilla, plum, spice and tobacco aromas. Fresh, ripe, jammy berry flavors. Although a little short on the finish, this is a charming, well-rounded wine with soft tannins.
