A beautiful Zin, among the best ever, with its near perfect balance of fruit, alcohol and tannins. Gorgeous flavors burst on the palate, black cherries, blackberries, cassis, white chocolate, espresso and cinnamon, to name a few. The wine is totally dry, but so ripe, it tastes sweet. Completely addictive, a joy for lovers of dry, balanced Zins, and a triumph for…

Made with Portuguese varieties, this is a real Port-like wine. It’s supersweet, just fabulously rich in blackberry, chocolate, coffee and vanilla flavors, and all that richness is beautifully balanced with crisp acids and smooth, succulently ripe tannins. The finish goes on. A great price.

Dense and concentrated, a brilliant Zinfandel that stuns with its beautiful array of flavors and near perfect balance. Dry, with soft but luscious tannins, and amazing flavors, including black cherry liqueur and a core of Belgian chocolate that lasts forever on the finish. A bit hot on the finish, with 15 percent alcohol, but who cares?

Made from Viognier and Roussanne, this intensely sweet wine has rich flavors of the ripest apricots and white peaches, drizzled with vanilla and cinnamon spice. The texture can only be described as voluptuous. Acidity is good, providing a cleansing balance. The alcohol is a very high 18 percent. This is sheer decadence.

Made from Portuguese varieties, this is an extraordinarily sweet wine. It’s explosive in chocolate truffle, blackberry pie filling, caramel and smoky butter flavors, balanced with crisp acidity. Delicious and compelling.

The first duty of a Port-style wine is to be dazzlingly rich and sweet yet balanced in acidity, and this bottling is all that. Waves of blackberry jam, cassis and dark chocolate are brightened with zesty acidity, and the sweetness level is very high.

At first, this shows faint aromas of lemon, pear and orange zest before gaining steam and finishing with a dollop of balanced white peach. Light in alcohol, this fresh, floral, mineral-laced wine should pair with goat cheese or seafood—especially in summer.

The tannins are so ripe and sweet, so soft and intricate, in this decadently fruity, feminine wine. It has flavors of ripe blackberries, dusted with cocoa and sprinkled with tangerine zest. This is seriously good stuff, and impossible to resist.
