American Whiskey/Bourbon
Bourbon is a type of American whiskey. Made only in the United States, bourbon has a strong association with the American South with production originating historically in Kentucky. A versatile corn-based spirit, bourbon can be served straight, over ice, diluted with water, mixed with soda or in popular cocktails like the Manhattan or the Old Fashioned. Distilled at no more than 160 proof and aged for at least 2 years, bourbon, by definition, cannot be altered with any additives to enhance its flavor or alter its color. The single-use charred white oak barrels used to age bourbon, give the spirit a unique smoky yet sweet taste, making it a great addition for cooking.
