Vodka

The perfect liquor for mixing, vodka is used in an array of popular cocktails including the Screwdriver, the Cosmopolitan and the Bloody Mary. Generally made from distilling fermented grains or potatoes, vodka has an alcoholic content of 40% ABV (80 proof) and has historic origins in Eastern Europe. Classified as a rectified spirit, vodka is traditionally distilled at least 3 times before being filtered through charcoal. It requires no aging and can be consumed immediately after production. Given its very neutral taste, vodka tends to be rated on account of its texture and is commonly infused with fruits, herbs, and other flavorings.
