Amidst the sea of copycat Grigios one exception stands out. It starts with a deep golden color and a nose ripe with toasted almond, pine box, caramel and maple syrup. Compactly structured, smooth and silky with lingering spice from barrel aging. Imported by VinUS Inc.

Bressan proves that Pinot Grigio can obtain sky high levels of sophistication. This saturated, almost amber-colored wine is rich with opulent honey, apricot, maple syrup, baked pear and pungent pinesap. It’s extremely rich, long-lasting and sports a complex, almost prickly personality.

This is delightful, with amazing intensity and unique smoothness. Aromas of honey, peach and cantaloupe linger on the finish, with a fresh note of mountain flower. This is a simple wine, but a perfectly executed one.

A masterpiece—this is a true achievement. It is aged on its lees for seven months to achieve a rich, sophisticated mouthfeel, with long flavors of toasted bread, apricot and honey. The wine shows a slightly copperish or ramato color, with a dense creaminess on the finish.

A wonderful, concentrated, lightly spicy wine from the Schiopetto family, with rich flavors of honey and almonds. It has power, but also elegance.

This tremendous wine is 100% Pinot Grigio, of which 50% was aged in new wood. It is rich and full-bodied, with complex layers of vanilla. It comes from low-yielding, old vines. Only 8,000 bottles were produced.

If you can imagine a Grigio with the class and balance of a good Napa Cab, this is it. To just describe the citrus flavors, dryness and acidity doesn’t do it justice. If you thought PG can only be a simple wine, try this one.

Pricey, but distinctive for its bright, refreshing acidity and dry, complex citrus, kiwi, green apple and white pepper flavors, with nuances of oak and lees.
