Acacia 1997 Lee Vyd Pinot Noir (Napa Valley)

  1. $50
From the Napa side of Carneros, this beautiful wine begins with very forward aromas of cola, black raspberry, black cherry, tomato, mushroom, earth, vanilla, spice and smoky oak. Very fruity and lush in the mouth, with soft tannins. It’s rich and opulent, offering wave after wave of different sensations that are endlessly fascinating. The finish is fruity and long…  — S.H.  (12/15/2000)

Acacia 1997 St. Clair Vyd Pinot Noir (Napa Valley)

  1. $50
This lovely, powerful wine is very similar to the Lee Vineyard bottling, but slightly more backward. The fruit and spice aromas are a little earthier, like sniffing a handful of rich, moist humus. In the mouth, there’s just a tad more tannin, indicating, possibly, slightly longer ageability, while the finish is a bit harder. Nonetheless, this is terrific Pinot Noir…  — S.H.  (12/15/2000)

Acacia 2007 Lone Tree Vineyard Pinot Noir (Carneros)

  1. $65
Fine and delicious, a huge improvement over the ’06 and even better than the excellent ’04. Dry and silky, it shows classic Pinot Noir structure, with long, deep flavors of oak-inspired cherries, raspberries, cola, mocha and Asian spices. Now–2013.  — S.H.  (12/15/2009)

Acacia 2007 Winery Lake Vineyard Pinot Noir (Carneros)

  1. $55
A lush Pinot Noir that needs some time to come around. It’s packed with flavors of black cherries, raspberries, plums, red currants, cola, licorice and sandalwood, in a silky texture marked fine tannins. Give it a year or so, and should improve through 2013.  — S.H.  (12/15/2009)

Acacia 2007 Horseshoe Bend Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley)

  1. $65
Made in an accessible way, this Pinot Noir drinks well now. It’s polished and silky, offering waves of cherries, raspberries, red currants, cola, rhubarb pie, cocoa, sandalwood and spices. Has the structure to evolve for a good six years.  — S.H.  (12/15/2009)

Acacia 1993 Brut Sparkling (Carneros)

  1. $35
This is a very dry, elegant bubbly that drinks “French” because the dominant notes are earthy, minerally and toasty, rather than fruity. At seven years of age, it’s lost whatever fruit it had and is turning dusty and rich, a wine of structural austerity. Yet it’s very fine.  — S.H.  (6/1/2001)

Acacia 2001 Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay (Carneros)

  1. $30
This big, bold Chard screams with flavors of tangerines, orange sorbet, vanilla and toast. It is well oaked, and has upfront acids that make for a crisp and bright mouthfeel. Finishes with tangy spices.  — S.H.  (12/15/2003)
