This vineyard is a magical site, one of the greatest Oregon Pinot vineyards. The wine has the majestic plumpness of grand cru Burgundy, with potent cherry fruit, laced with sweet spices, that seems to expand through a generous midpalate and keep on keeping on as long as you are paying attention.

Berries, citrus, even suggestions of tropical fruits (papaya, guava) anchor this supple wine. It’s a wine that invites leisurely exploration, nuanced and refined, with balance and body enough to age for up to a decade.

The Winderlea is perhaps the most unique in terms of style and flavor among all the 2010 Adelsheim single-vineyard Pinots. Its distinctive minerality accompanies tart cranberry and cherry notes, citrusy acidity with a splash of grapefruit flavor, and a finish that tastes of coffee and tea. Complex and long, this is a wine that will surely spark some heated discussion.
